Truman
2018: Finished with an ERA of 4.45 and a record of 3-3 in 16 appearances, six of which were starts, in 45 and two-thirds innings pitched ... also had two complete games, part of a shutout with Alyssa Hajduk in game one at Westminster on Feb. 15, 22 walks, 23 strikeouts, and an opponent batting average of .314 ... went the distance in game two vs. Wayne State College on March 14 (9-1) and game two vs. the 2018 National Champions, Southern Indiana, on April 7 (5-1) ... struck out a season high three batters in three of her first six appearances ... named Academic All-GLVC ... recipient of the GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award for finishing eligibility with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
2017: Acted as the team's No. 2 pitcher behind Lauren Dale as a junior for the Purple and White in 2017 ... went 13-7 in 29 appearances, 24 starts, with a 2.62 ERA, six complete games, three shutouts, 128 innings pitched, 58 strikeouts, 26 walks, and an opponent batting average of .271 ... before Dale came into her own as the team's ace, Simpson had collected a record of 10-4 through her first 17 outings, 14 starts, with an ERA of 2.42, four complete games, two shutouts, 84 innings pitched, 46 strikeouts, only 17 walks, and an opponent batting average of just .245 ... collected six punchouts against both Wayne State College on March 1 and Southern Connecticut State on March 13 ... finished with a one-hitter in game two at Lincoln on Feb. 21 in which she had one walk and four strikeouts in Truman's 7-0 victory ... had a perfect inning of relief with one punchout on April 2 at Missouri S&T for game two of that doubleheader ... named Academic All-GLVC.

Simpson came to Kirksville from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she was part of a powerhouse program in the Eagles ... during her two seasons there (2015-16), Kirkwood was a combined 105-16 (.868 winning percentage), which included a 53-2 mark within Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play ... those 58 wins her freshman year (58-6) are the most in school history and 2016's 47 victories (47-10) are right up there as well ... the Eagles won the conference in both of her seasons as well as earning a fifth-place finish at the National Tournament this past season ... as a sophomore, Simpson was 28-3 overall and a perfect 13-0 against ICCAC foes ... on the season, she pitched 182.2 innings with a 2.18 ERA, 157 strikeouts, 50 walks, and an average of six strikeouts per seven innings ... as a freshman, she appeared in 32 games, starting 27 of them, and finished with a win-loss record of 20-6 ... she struck out 138 batters in 150 innings pitched and had an ERA of 1.54 ... she led the conference in ERA and shutouts, and was top 3 in strikeouts (138), complete games (7) and wins (20) ... overall, she racked up the awards and was named All-Region twice, an NJCAA Second-Team All-American, an NJCAA Third-Team All-American, an NFCA All-American twice, a Fastpitch News Second-Team All-American, and an Academic All-American.
High School
Was a four-sport athlete as she played softball, volleyball, basketball, and ran track ... in volleyball, she started and lettered for two years ... on the court, she also lettered/started for two seasons ... when running track, she was a four-year starter/letterwinner and during those four seasons, she was named all-conference four times, was a three-time state qualifier and also qualified for the Drake Relays ... member of the National Honor Society and was academic all-conference.
