Biography

2016 (Junior): Was second on the staff with 14 pitching appearances and made six starts for 56.1 innings thrown…his final five appearances were all starts and threw two complete games…led the staff with five wins and will enter senior season second in career wins with 13, two behind leader Cody Gardner…pitched a season-high eighth innings, allowing four hits in a 6-2 win over Maryville on April 10…struck out 24 hitters while walking eight.

2015 (Sophomore): Started 11 of 14 games with a 4-2 record…had started the first 11 games he pitched in with the two relief appearances coming in the GLVC and NCAA Regional tournaments…pitched two scoreless innings in Truman’s 9-5 victory against Drury at regional and struck out three in 3.2 innings against Southern Indiana at conference…had one complete game and longest outing was 8.2 against Drury on April 12…won four of his first seven starts.

2014 (Freshman): Started eight games and made 14 appearances on the hill during his freshman season…posted a 4-3 record with a 5.03 ERA in 59 innings pitched…fanned five while pitching a complete-game shutout against Missouri-St. Louis on April 18, allowing five hits in the seven-inning game…longest outing of the season was 8 1/3 innings in a 1-0 loss to Rockhurst (Mo.) on April 26…notched a three inning save in a 6-1 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside on March 17…named to the Academic All-GLVC team.

High School: led Vianney High School with 14 appearances in 2013 and has a 5-2 record with a 2.39 ERA and 38 strikeouts through May 8th. He has pitched as both a starter and closer for Golden Griffins. He was a pitcher for the St. Louis Tigers club team in 2012. Hoffman is a member of the National Honor Society.
