After a successful three-year career in the Purple and White (played freshman season at Division I Mercer in 2014), Klemm turned to coaching and joined head coach, Duke Cochran, as a student assistant for the 2018 season.

Including his time as a Bear in the Southern Conference (SoCon), the Parkway West product logged 4,155 minutes on the field as a defender with 64 of a possible 73 games played and 54 starts in those 64 appearances. In 2014, he was part of a Mercer defense that recorded 10 shutouts to finish second in the SoCon. Switching gears to the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) for the next three seasons, Klemm was a three-time Academic All-GLVC honoree to go with incredible reliability on the pitch.

The Ballwin, Mo. native also contributed on the offensive end as he assisted Matt McMillin on Oct. 4, 2015 vs. William Jewell and Jake Koenig on Sept. 5, 2017 vs. Southwest Baptist. To go with those two assists, Klemm also took four shots, one as a freshman, one as a sophomore and three as a senior.
