Nicole Finnesand enters her first season as Simek's assistant coach for the 2018-19 season. Finnesand, a native of Aberdeen, S.D. and 2014 graduate from the University of Wyoming, comes to Kirksville after a stint as the head coach of the Webster Swim Club in Webster, S.D.
Finnesand's head coaching stay at Webster lasted two years, including 2010 and 2018. In between those two seasons, she swam for the Cowboys (2010-14), earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication with a minor in disability studies and was an assistant coach for the Golden West Swim Club in Huntington Beach, Calif. (summer 2014 and 2015-17). Aside from those three stops, Finnesand also worked Wyoming swim camps for three years and Air Force Academy swim camps for two.
The former mid-distance swimmer and letterwinner's accolades include South Dakota Head Coach of the Year for Webster in 2010, head coach of the Southern California All-Stars Festival team and NACC team manager for Southern California swimming.
