Dan Blodgett was hired as men’s and women’s tennis coach in the summer of 2012. Blodgett is a certified member of the United States Professional Tennis Association and will take over for Pete Kendall, who retired after last season.
Blodgett, a graduate of Kirksville (Mo.) High School, was a Master instructor for the Gates Tennis Center in Denver, Colorado and has owned and operated a five-court tennis facility in Blue Springs, Mo.
He served on the Board of Directors for the Tennis Professionals of Kansas City and was an assistant tennis coach at Westminster College (Mo.).
During the past 26 years, Blodgett has trained two professionals and several collegiate tennis players. He is also a member of the United States Racquet Stringers Association.
“I am excited to be joining the Truman tennis program,” said Blodgett. “I really admire Coach Kendall and his dedication to the program throughout the past 20 years. Coach Kendall connected with the student-athletes in all areas of their lives which is something I will strive for in my career as a Bulldog.”
