2019 (Junior Season): Started in all of her 51 appearances during her junior campaign…had a batting average of .355 last season with 13 doubles, 1 triple, and 5 homeruns…she had 40 RBIs on the year…3 of those RBIs came in her 2-for-3 performance against Sioux Falls on March 11…she has a career batting average of .342…Rivera is in the top 10 in Truman State history for career homeruns ( 19), RBIs (114), runs (110), and stolen bases (52)…she finished conference play tied for 6th in stolen bases (11)… she was named GLVC Academic All-Conference.
2018: After the graduation of a program great in Lex Van Nostrand in 2017, Alyssa Rivera stepped up as the team's second-best hitter behind Christa Reisinger in 2018 ... hit .344 (52-for-151) with 35 runs scored, four doubles, one triple, six home runs, 26 RBI, 76 total bases, a .503 slugging percentage, 20 walks, a .421 on-base percentage, two sacrifice hits, and 13 stolen bases in 15 attempts ... those numbers earned her a Third-Team All-GLVC nod on May 2 ... became the fifth third baseman in program history to be named to an all-conference team multiple times and first since Cate Simon in 2016 ... however, of those four previous Bulldogs to man the hot corner, Rivera is just the second (Tammie Reed) to be featured as both a freshman and sophomore ... during those two years, Rivera has been the Purple and White's starting third baseman for every single one of their 107 games ... second on the team behind Reisinger in both multi-hit games with 17 and multi-RBI games with eight including a pair with three brought in vs. Lincoln on March 21 (game one) and at Quincy on April 28 (game one) ... registered the third-longest hitting streak on the team with seven games (March 4-18) and hit safely in the final four games of the spring ... also had the second-longest reached-base streak that lasted 17 games from March 30 to April 21 ... homered in back-to-back games for the first time in her career with one against Illinois Springfield in game two on April 19 and then Lewis in game one two days later ... showed much better plate discipline as a sophomore as her strikeout total went down from 33 to 18 and walk total went up from 13 to 20 ... hit her first-career triple in the second game of the season on Feb. 8 vs. Trevecca Nazarene in Huntsville, Ala. ... also improved her slugging percentage from .493 to .503 and on-base percentage from .388 to .421 ... named Academic All-GLVC.
2017: With the graduation of third baseman, Cate Simon, head coach, Erin Brown, and the Truman State University softball program turned to Alyssa Rivera to fill that void ... Rivera did more than just become the everyday starter at the hot corner as she was one of six Bulldogs to start all 63 of the team's games, but she was named First-Team All-GLVC on May 3, D2CCA First-Team All-Midwest Region on May 14 and NFCA Second-Team All-Midwest Region on May 10 ... the Troy, Mo. native belted eight home runs, the last of which was a solo shot to left in the season finale against Missouri-St. Louis, to go with 48 RBI, the most by a freshman in program history ... among the best the GLVC has to offer, Rivera finished second in at-bats (215, just one behind Reisinger), fourth in hits (74), tied for fourth in stolen bases (20), fifth in RBI, and tied for fifth in runs scored (43) ... hit .344 behind two of the best players in the nation in Reisinger (.509) and Van Nostrand (.400) with eight doubles, 106 total bases, a .493 slugging percentage, 13 walks, three hit-by-pitches, a .388 on-base percentage, one sacrifice fly, eight sacrifice hits, and a .941 fielding percentage ... tallied a personal-best four hits in six at-bats vs. McKendree on May 5 in the GLVC Tournament ... scored three times in the win over Missouri S&T on the road on April 2 ... batted in four against Ohio Dominican on March 14, S&T on April 2 and Kentucky Wesleyan in the team's final win of the year in the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament ... registered 21 multi-hit games including 15 with two, five with three and that one mentioned earlier with four ... her 11 multi-RBI games were tied with Reisinger for second on the squad ... longest hitting streak was nine games (12-for-30/.400 average during that span) and longest reached-base streak was 11 ... named Academic All-GLVC.

Was a two-year letterwinner and starter as a third baseman at Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Mo. ... her career offensive numbers include a .379 average (33-for-87), .443 on-base percentage, .690 slugging percentage, 23 runs scored, 17 singles, 10 doubles, one triple, and five home runs ... defensively during her time as a member of the Trojans, she compiled 41 putouts, 51 assists and 10 errors for a .902 fielding percentage ... named first-team GAC, all-district and all-conference honors in 2015 while receiving the TBHS Scholar Athlete Award ... also a member of the basketball program where she lettered and started for three years as a point guard/shooting guard ... twice named conference all-academic, twice won the TBHS Scholar Athlete Award and was a member of the St. Francis Borgia All-Tournament Team twice as well ... member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.
