Dorsey finished her first season as a student assistant in 2017 after just completing a standout four-year career as a Bulldog. During her first year as a coach, Dorsey helped head coach, Erin Brown, and her coaching staff, lead the Bulldogs to the sixth 40-win season in program history and the 16th NCAA Division II Tournament in school history. Along the way, five Bulldogs were named All-GLVC, five were featured on All-Region lists and two (Christa Reisinger and Lex Van Nostrand) were named All-Americans.
In those four seasons of playing, the Clarksville, Mo. native was a force in the circle. She finished her time with a record of 67-29 (.698 winning percentage) in 613.1 innings pitched and an ERA of 2.32 in 122 appearances, 92 of which were starts. In that span, she struck out 537 and walked just 146 while giving up an opponent's batting average of only .232. Her finest season came as a redshirt sophomore when she went 20-6 with a 1.71 ERA in 168 innings of work. In those 168 frames, she compiled 131 punchouts to just 28 free passes.
