High School: Buford starred at Central Lee High School (IA), earning multiple first-team all-conference honors and two all-state selections during her career. She posted a .518 batting average as a senior with 51 RBIs and eight home runs, earning SEISC Co-Player of the Year honors. Buford also brings collegiate experience after competing at Indian Hills Community College, where she helped lead the team to an ICCAC Conference Championship.
