Smith completed his first season as Head Tennis Coach at Truman in 2019-20. He led the team to a 6-6 record in duals and 1-5 record in conference duals. The team also competed at the Quincy Invitational and the UMSL Invitational in the fall season. Alex Rogers collected nine wins in first doubles over the course of the season and along with Morgan Eby collected seven first doubles wins.
After a slow start to the season the Bulldogs picked up three straight wins in duals at Central College (Iowa), Webster University (Mo.) and William Jewell. During the spring the Bulldogs won their final three duals of the year at Coe College (Iowa) and vs Missouri Baptist and Kasaskia College (Ill.).
