KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Sophomore Jerod Simek won both the 500 and 1000 freestyle events as the Bulldog men's swimming team fell in a dual meet with rival Missouri S&T by a score of 119-81. The team will be back in the pool tomorrow against Drury University for senior day.

Simek cruised to victory in the 1000 as he touched the wall in 9:48.02 and beat out teammate Sam Collier by four seconds. Collier finished the race in a season best time of 9:52.53.

In the 500, Simek out raced Phillip Arve of the Miners by just under four ticks of a second to win in 4:46.41.

James Barber will be the only men's senior to be honor prior to the dual with Drury on Saturday. The meet begins at 1:00 p.m. and is free to attend at the Pershing Natatorium.
