#20 Ranked Bearcats Hand Truman Women Road Loss

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Conference leader Northwest Missouri led wire-to-wire and defeated the Truman women's basketball team 87-69 at Bearcat Arena on Wednesday night. Becka McHenry led the Bulldogs with 17 points while Jennifer Conway added 16 with 11 rebounds.

The Bearcats were up just three at 20-17 on Truman but then scored 13 of the next 17 points to push the lead into double-digits where it stayed the rest of the game. Northwest led by as many as 21 while the Bulldogs could get no closer than 13 in the second half.

Truman shot 40% from the field and had four players in double-figures behind McHenry's 17 and Conway's 16. Becka McHenry scored 14 and Nicole Gloor added 10. The Bulldogs did win the battle on the glass as they secured 43 rebounds, including 21 on the offensive end to Northwest's 34 boards.

The Bearcats shot 53% for the game and also had four players in double-figures. Kyla Roehrig had a game-high 23 points while Gabby Curtis scored 17, Abby Henry added 14 and Gentry Dietz chipped in 13.

With the loss, Truman falls into an eighth place tie with Fort Hays State in the conference standings. Both teams are 9-10 in league play with three games left. Truman currently holds the tie break with a season sweep over the Tigers and is still just one game back of sixth place behind Missouri Western and Central Missouri. Truman will face the Griffons on Saturday night in St. Joseph in a huge conference tilt beginning at 5:30 p.m.
