Nelson Places Second In Wartburg Pentathlon

Results

WAVERLY, Iowa – Sophomore Becca Nelson finished second in the Warburg Pentathlon on Friday. Nelson scored 2925 points and trailed first place winner Camesha Goods of Wartburg by less than 100.

Nelson placed third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.71 then tied for third in the high jump, clearing 4-07.50. 

In the shot, Nelson placed second with a personal best mark of 31-00.75 and again placed second with a personal best 16-05.25 in the long jump.

Nelson closed the competition with a third place in the 800 meter run, crossing the line in 2:39.52.

This is the second pentathlon Nelson has competed in this season as she previously scored 2,950 points at the season opening Iowa State Holiday Meet in December.

The entire Truman Track & Field team will return to competition next weekend at the Dr. Jim Green Invitational hosted by Illinois College in Jacksonville.
