  • The Bulldogs are scoring 72.5 ppg on the season (72.2 MIAA), shooting 45.1% from the field (43.8% MIAA), and 36.1% from three-point range (37.9% MIAA). The Bulldogs are connecting at a 71.3% clip from the foul line through all 14 games.
  • Truman has already matched its 2012 road win total (2-12) through four road contests and is three wins away from matching the 2012 home win total (6-7) with five to play within the friendly confines of Pershing Arena.
  • Entering this past weekend, the Bulldogs ranked second in the MIAA in three-pointers per game, third in assist/turnover ratio and fifth in turnover margin.
  • Mike Carlson has inked his name all over the MIAA stat sheets, ranking amongst league leaders in free throw shooting (87.3%), scoring (16.9), steals (24), blocks (17), rebounds (6.4) and field goal percentage (53.7%).

Mr. 1K:
Tom Norton is inching closer to the 1,000-point club, as he sits with 982 career points entering this week's action. There are 24 members of Truman's 1,000-point club, with the most recent inductees including 2011 graduates Alex Henderson (22nd; 1,031) and Ethan Freeman (24th; 1,008).

Carlson Posts Massive Week:
Despite a pair of team losses last week, Mike Carlson had a great week on both ends of the court statistically, averaging 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. He shot 58% from the field (14-for-24) and hit 11-of-14 free throws (78.6%). He recorded his fifth 20+ point game of the season and eighth of his career with 24 against UCO and has now reached double-figures offensively in 13 of the team's 14 games this year.

The Reliables:
Mike Carlson and Seth Jackson are the only two Bulldogs to start all 14 games this season, while both freshman guards Cole and Cory Myers have started 13 of the team's 14 contests.

“Free”bies:
Overall in six MIAA games, the Bulldogs are shooting 78.6% (99-for-126) from the charity stripe. Helping contribute to those numbers was a 40-for-44 (90.9%) performance against LU and LWU two weeks ago in which Seth Jackson was 11-for-11, both Mike Carlson and Tom Norton went 6-for-8, and Cory Myers went 5-for-5.

Making a Splash from Downtown:
The Bulldogs have made at least one three-pointer in every game since Feb. 12, 2003, a stretch of 266 consecutive games.

Five Peas in an MIAA Pod:
For the 2012-13 season, the MIAA will be invoking a “pod” system for basketball scheduling, resulting in 18 league matches for all 15 of the conference's schools. While all 15 teams will fall under set of standings with no delineation between pods, Truman will play Central Missouri, Lincoln, Southwest Baptist and newcomer-Lindenwood twice each as part of one five-team grouping.

Emporia State, Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State will join with newcomers Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State as a second pod, while Northwest Missouri, Missouri Western, Washburn and Fort Hays will align with the final newcomer, Nebraska-Kearney, in a third pod.

At the end of the season, the top 12 teams will compete for the MIAA men's basketball championship. First-round games will be played on Monday, March 4 on campus sites with the top-4 teams and the first-round winners advancing to Kansas City for the remainder of the tournament as usual.
