2013 Championship Recap || 2013 Postseason Honors
Â
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - The 16th GLVC women's golf championship will commence in 2014, welcoming for the first time the Truman Bulldog program.
Â
The Bulldogs, after forming prior to the 1985-86 season, competed in the MIAA for all five seasons the sport was sponsored by the league. Most recently, Truman finished fourth in the 2012-13 MIAA Championship, shooting a 329 in an abbreviated 18-hole tournament after the second day of competition was washed out due to rain.
Â
Under the direction of head coach Sam Lesseig, the Bulldogs will look to reload in the 2013-14 campaign after losing its top three scorers from last season.

About GLVC Women's Golf
Fifteen league championships have been held since the sport began official league play in the 1997-98 season. Since that time, Indianapolis has captured seven team and three individual champions to lead all programs, with Drury adding two team and individual titles of its own.
Â
Since 2010, the championship has been held at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill., with UIndy taking the past two team titles and four of the past five.
Of the 16 programs that compete under the GLVC banner, 14 field women's golf programs, with just Missouri S&T and Wisconsin-Parkside not competing.
Â
The league announces both Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors after the conference championship – held in April. The conference office also awards a golfer of the month award for the months of September, October, March and April. Ten players are named to the all-conference team.
Â
The GLVC has not had a national team champion, but did see UIndy's Lyndsay McBride win medalist honors at the 2009 NCAA-II championship. UIndy has reached the national tournament four times as a time, followed by two appearances by Drury. No other team has reached the NCAA women's national championships.

2013 Schedule/Postseason Information
Only the fall schedule has been released at this point, with a handful of familiar events dotting the schedule. The Bulldogs open the fall season at the Drury Invitational on Sept. 9-10 in Bolivar, Mo., before traveling to the Land of Lincoln for events at Illinois Wesleyan (Sept. 14-15; Normal, Ill.) and Millikin (Sept. 21-22; Decatur, Ill.).
Â
The first new event on the ledger comes one week later, as the Bulldogs will compete at the GLVC Fall Preview, held Sept. 29-30 at Annbriar.
Â
Truman will host its annual Fall Classic on Oct. 13-14 at the Kirksville Country Club before wrapping up the fall slate with a two-day event at Whitmoor CC (St. Charles, Mo.) on Oct. 21-22. That event is hosted by Lindenwood.
Â
Similar procedures will take place following the spring season regarding NCAA tournament selections, with nine teams and four individuals earning the right to compete at the Midwest regional event. The national championships will take place at the Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Conover, N.C., from May 14-17, 2014.
