KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – After being away from the home gym for more than a month, the Truman Women's Basketball teams heated up the nets shooting 68% from three-point range and downed the University of Illinois Springfield 94-65 in the first Great Lakes Valley Conference game played in Kirksville, Mo.

Amy Briggs nailed five triples and scored a career-high 23 points for the Bulldogs, who won their 20th straight game on the home floor dating back to 2011. Briggs' hot shooting from outside was contagious as the team dropped in 15 treys, the most in a league game by the Bulldogs and second most overall out of 22 attempts on the night.

Truman never trailed in the contest and used a 12-0 run over a three minute span early in the game to break things wide open. The Prairie Stars trimmed the lead to five points but a 10-1 run pushed the lead back to double figures, where it stayed for the remainder of the night.

For the sixth time this season, Truman was sent to the foul line 30 times and knocked down 27 free throws, including all 13 in the second half to a 90% clip.

Briggs was joined in double figures by Nicole Gloor's 15 points, Allie Norton's 14 and Courtney Strait's 10. Norton took sole possession of third place in career three-pointers made with four of five on the evening to give her 156.

UIS got 18 points apiece from Megan Bergerud and Cassie Wolfe but shot just 33% for the game and 25% from beyond the arc.

The Bulldogs will return to the Pershing Arena court on Saturday afternoon hosting McKendree (Ill.) University at 1:00 p.m. The Bearcats were defeated by Quincy (Ill.) University on Thursday night 92-66.
