Men's Soccer Recap: UW-Parkside 2, Truman 0

SOMERS, Wisc. – In a pivotal Great Lakes Valley Conference match, the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers got a goal each half and shutout the Truman Bulldogs 2-0 on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs return to the pitch on Sunday against Lewis (Ill.) University at noon.
 
The Rangers (8-6/5-6 GLVC) struck early with Nemaja Medic converted a breakaway pass into the game's first goal at the seven minute mark and added an insurance goal in the 51st minute when Antonio Gonzales scored his team leading seventh goal of the season.
 
The Bulldogs (5-7-1/4-6-1 GLVC) had the shot advantage 15-10 with seven on goal but could not get any past Marcos Perez. Austin Hayden was credited with five shots followed by Tony Luedecke's four.
 
Both teams are fighting for one of the top eight spots in the conference and with the win the Rangers leaped frogged the Bulldogs for the final postseason tournament spot with four regular season matches remaining.
