Men's Soccer Recap: Lewis 2, Truman 0

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - - Senior midfielder Chris Mansfield took five of Truman's 16 total shots, but a header goal in each half by the host Flyers helped send Lewis past the Bulldog men's soccer team on Sunday afternoon.
 
Lewis got a 36th minute goal from Robert Zieba before a 52nd minute header by Krystian Nowak to deal the Bulldogs (5-8-1, 4-7-1 GLVC) their third straight loss. Truman out-shot LU (8-4-2, 7-3-2 GLVC) 16-15 on the day, but the Flyers earned eight corner kicks to Truman's five and were able to keep the purple and white off the scoreboard for the duration.
 
John Lee and Josh Hall each added two shots, and keeper Drew Garrone made six saves on eight total Flyer shots on goal.
 
The Bulldogs return home for their final home match of the 2014 season next Friday (Oct. 24) afternoon at 2:30 p.m. against Missouri-St. Louis. Admission is free at the Bulldog Soccer Park.
