Men's Soccer Recap: Missouri-St. Louis 4, Truman 0

KIRKSVILLE - - The Truman men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday afternoon in its 2014 home finale at the Bulldog Soccer Park.

After UMSL (11-3-1, 10-3 GLVC) turned an early free kick into a 1-0 lead, Truman (5-9-1, 4-8-1 GLVC) battled back and matched the Tritons step-for-step with the teams combining for five shots and four corner kicks (Truman 3-1) in the first half.

The game's complexion completely turned, however, in the 54th minute, as back-to-back goals in a 37 second span by UMSL's Jon Huelsman turned a one-goal margin into a three-goal deficit for the Bulldogs. UMSL would get one last tally in the 89th minute, as Nick Werner added his second free kick goal of the day.

Freshman Jeremy Rehagen posed multiple problems for the UMSL back line throughout the afternoon, using his speed to take a team-high three shots. Tony Luedecke, Craig McLaurine, and Josh Hall each took one shot off the bench, while Drew Garrone (71 minutes) and Tony Lantz (19 minutes) split time in net.

The Bulldogs return to action at Maryville on Sunday afternoon, with a kickoff against the Saints in St. Louis set for 2:30 p.m.
