QUINCY, Ill. - - The Truman men's soccer team ran into a red-hot Quincy program on Wednesday night, as the sixth-ranked Hawks closed the Bulldogs' 2014 regular season with a 4-0 setback under the lights.
 
Jordan Roberts scored QU's first two goals in the 28th and 51st minutes (his 19th and 20th of the year), before Ethan Venvertloh tallied his sixth of the season in the 52nd minute to extend the lead to 3-0. Jake Bond would add a score in the 68th for the eventual 4-0 final tally.
 
Senior Austin Hayden came off the bench to take Truman's two shots, while senior keepers Drew Garrone (54 minutes) and Tony Lantz (36 minutes) split time in net – combining to make four saves.
 
With the loss, Truman's 2014 regular season comes to a close with an overall record of 5-11-1 (4-10-1 GLVC), while Quincy moves on with a mark of 16-0-2 (13-0-2 GLVC).
 
Head coach Duke Cochran's squad will lose 10 seniors, with Garrone, Lantz, and Hayden joined by Tony Luedecke, Ian Abundis, Chris Mansfield, Nick Franta, Brandon Visonnavong, John Fernandez, and Dan Jack. The Bulldogs will return six starters for the 2015 campaign, which will begin next September.
