KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - The Truman State University men's basketball team shot the second-highest percentage in school history, while five players finished in double-figures in a 109-44 rout of Lincoln Christian (Ill.) University on Thursday night in Pershing Arena. Seth Jackson led all scorers with 23 points in 17 minutes action.
 
The Bulldogs (4-2) jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the first four minutes of the game and never looked back, building a 40 point lead (62-22) at the half behind a blazing 76.7% (23-of-30) from the field. Truman hit nine triples in the first 20 minutes and adding a 7-for-9 line from the stripe to put the game in cruise control.
 
Truman eventually pushed the lead to its final margin of 65 points with just 46 seconds to play, as 13 different Bulldogs each played at least 10 minutes in the contest.
 
Jackson's 23 came on 6-of-7 shooting overall and a 9-for-10 night at the line, while Isaac Gardner (12) and Andrew Vander Zwaag (10) also hit double-figures. Five different Bulldogs – Connor Erickson (12), Zach Fischer (10), Hank Mathews (9), Kiefer Starbird (4), and Connor Lusso (2) – each racked up new career-highs, with Fischer, Mathews, and Lusso making their collegiate debuts.
 
For the game, Truman finished just a half-point shy of the all-time program field goal percentage record, coming through at 63.6% on the night (42-of-66). The Bulldogs hit 11 three-pointers and went 14-of-16 (87.5%) from the foul line.
 
Truman out-rebounded the Red Lions (1-8) by a 36-18 margin, including 12-4 on the offensive glass. The Bulldogs also recorded 27 assists on 42 made baskets and turned 24 LCU turnovers into 44 points.
 
Lusso led the Bulldogs with six rebounds, while Kyle Kanaskie led Truman with six assists and three steals.
 
Drew Stribling led the Red Lions with eight points.
 
The Bulldogs will open Great Lakes Valley Conference play this Saturday in Pershing Arena, welcoming long-time rival Quincy (Ill.) for a 3 p.m. start.
