KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - Junior guard Seth Jackson scored a team-high 25 points, and three other Bulldogs reached double figures, but a 17-9 closing burst by the 5th-ranked Drury (Mo.) Panthers snapped Truman's seven-game winning streak on Saturday afternoon, as DU held off the Bulldog men's basketball team by an 88-78 score.

The Bulldogs (15-4, 8-3 GLVC) and Panthers (18-1, 10-1 GLVC) played a tight game throughout, as an early 23-11 lead for visiting DU was wiped clean by a 15-0 run by Truman, resulting in a 26-23 Bulldog lead with 7:07 to play in the first half. The purple and white would hold onto a slim margin, until the Panthers regained the lead with 5:00 on the clock. Drury would eventually carry a six point lead (40-34) into the intermission.

The lead would reach seven for DU, before Truman again rallied and tied the score at 62-all on a Cole Myers old-fashioned three-point play with 10:57 on the clock. The teams eventually would be tied three more times – the latest at 67-67, before the Panthers took what would be the lead for good at the 7:34 mark of the second half.

Jackson's team-high 25 points came on 8-of-15 shooting overall and a 9-of-11 free throw effort in just 26 minutes of work. Myers added 12 points and a pair of assists in 20 minutes off the bench, while Andrew Vander Zwaag (11) and Billy Daniel (10) also reached double-figures. Reed Mells handed out nine assists and grabbed six rebounds, while Mike Carlson scored nine points and nabbed a game-high three steals.

The Bulldogs shot 42.4% for the game and 28% from three-point range, while also converting 15-of-18 free throw tries. DU countered with a 50% field goal percentage and finished 25-of-32 free throws. Cameron Adams scored 28 points to lead the Panthers.

Truman returns to action on Thursday evening, hosting No. 16 Southern Indiana at 7:30 p.m.
