Knights Nab Late Tally to Down Men's Soccer

LOUISVILLE - - The Truman men's soccer team fell victim to an 85th-minute goal on Sunday afternoon, as Bellarmine broke a scoreless tie in the final minutes to hand the Bulldogs a 1-0 defeat at O.B. Frazier Stadium.

The evenly-matched contest wasn't settled until the very end, as Truman out-shot BU 11-10 overall on the match and 4-3 on goal. After a Bulldog foul, Callum Southern flicked a set piece towards Zach Digan, who headed home the eventual game-winning goal for his first tally of the season. The Bulldogs (6-9, 5-7 GLVC) couldn't get off another shot in the final four minutes, as the Knights (10-5, 8-4 GLVC) picked up the home win.

Zach Hollstrom and John Lee took two shots each, including one apiece on goal, while Zac Suazo posted two saves in his first career action as a Bulldog in goal. Each team was whistled for 11 fouls, and BU took three corner kicks to Truman's two.

Truman returns home – where it is 5-1 on the season – for the final three matches of the 2015 regular season, beginning next Friday (Oct. 23) at 12 p.m. against Illinois Springfield. The Prairie Stars entered a Sunday afternoon home match against Missouri-St. Louis at 4-8-2 overall (2-7-2 GLVC).
