ROLLA, Mo. - - Junior Kayla Bastian posted a 10-kill, 20-dig double-double, and senior Ali Patterson finished with seven kills, six blocks, and an ace, but late-set rallies by the Missouri S&T Miners proved the difference-makers on Friday night, as the Truman volleyball team fell 3-1 in a road GLVC contest.

In the first (18-18) and third (16-16), the Bulldogs had a battle on their hands with S&T; however, the home green and gold rattled off 7-1 and 9-1 runs, respectively, to take a 2-1 lead sandwiched around Truman's 25-18 second set win. In the fourth set, Truman had the Miners on the ropes at 24-22, but three kills and a Bulldog attack error flipped the script and allowed the hosts to pick up the 3-1 win.

Truman was held to a .083 hitting percentage with 39 kills and 25 errors on 169 swings. Bastian (10), Patterson (7), and senior Emilee Walters (7) were the top kill leaders for the 'Dogs, while senior Sadie Pafford matched her previous career-high of 24 digs to lead all players. Senior Abby Heise finished with a 16-assist, 15-dig double-double of her own, while junior Kayleen Green added a 17-assist, 12-dig double-double.

S&T blocked 15 Truman attempts, with 11 (two solo, nine assist) coming from Krista Haslag. Carlie Combs had 21 kills to lead the Miners.

The Bulldogs – now 13-8 on the season (6-4 GLVC West) – visit Drury (15-8, 5-5 GLVC West) on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Springfield.
