KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - The 2015 Truman volleyball season came to an abrupt end on Saturday night, as No. 7 Rockhurst swept the Bulldogs 3-0 (-21, -18, -20) in Pershing Arena. Truman hit .191 for the match and got 12 kills from freshman Bailey Mason in the defeat.

With the loss, Truman (17-13, 10-8 GLVC) finished in a tie for eighth-place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings; however, due to its loss at Southern Indiana on Sept. 26 in five sets, the Screaming Eagles earned the final bid in the 2015 GLVC tournament, eliminating the Bulldogs.

The first set was the tightest of the three on the night, with 12 ties and five lead changes; however, the Hawks scored the final four points after the teams were knotted at 21-all to take the set, 25-21. RU later picked up the second and third sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-20.

Mason's 12 kills and .379 hitting percentage led all Bulldogs, while junior Kayla Bastian added nine kills and 12 digs. Senior Abby Heise finished with 20 assists and three block assists, while fellow senior Ali Patterson put down five kills with just one error to go along with four block assists. Redshirt freshman Claire Wandrey led all 'Dogs with 14 digs on the back row.

Truman will send off a five-member senior class that includes Heise, Patterson, Sadie Pafford, Emilee Walters, and Kassi Schroeder. The quintet helped lead the Bulldog program to 96 wins during their tenure and three NCAA Div. II tournament appearances – all under the direction of head coach Ben Briney.

The Bulldogs are set to return 11 squad-members for the 2016 season, which will begin next September.
