Box Score (PDF)

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - -
Juniors Cory Myers and Kyle Kanaskie each set new career-highs in points to help guide the Truman men's basketball team to a 90-85 victory against Cameron (Okla.) in the finale of the Drury Thanksgiving Classic.

Myers played 29 minutes and finished 26 points (8-14 FG; 2-7 3FG; 8-10 FT) and 10 rebounds – both new personal-bests – with Kanaskie finishing with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting (3-for-8 3FG) and a 5-of-6 day at the charity stripe. Senior Cole Myers added 17 points and seven rebounds, while fellow senior Andrew Vander Zwaag dropped four three-pointers on his way to 12 points.

The back-and-forth affair featured 11 ties and 14 lead changes, as Cameron (4-3) built a 27-17 lead with 7:40 to play in the first half. Truman, meanwhile, closed the half on a 21-9 run to carry a two-point lead into the intermission, before taking its turn to build a 10 point lead at 76-66 with 4:09 to play in the game. The Bulldogs' strong free throw shooting – 17-for-21 for the game and 12-for-14 (86%) in the second-half – sealed the victory and secured a weekend split.

Truman (4-2) shot 48.4% for the game (30-of-62) and dropped 13 three-pointers on an Aggie squad that defeated weekend-host Drury by two points in Friday's action. One of the key stats in the game came in an opportunity category, as Truman turned 13 Cameron turnovers into 15 points, while the Bulldogs' seven turnovers led directly to just four points for CU. Connor Erickson swatted three Aggie shots, while Kanaskie led all Bulldogs with four assists.

The Bulldogs return to Kirksville on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. to open Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Rockhurst (Mo.).
