Box Score (PDF)MACOMB, Ill. – The Truman Women's Basketball team began exhibition play on Thursday night with a 63-41 loss to Division I, Western Illinois University. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
The Leathernecks took off on an 11-0 run to start the game and never trailed in the new four quarter format adopted by women's basketball this season.
Michalina Tomczak led Truman with eight points, going 3-of-7 from the field and pulling down seven boards. Eleven of the 15 Truman players that played scored points in the exhibition game.
Truman shot 21% from the floor and made four three-pointers.
WIU had four players scoring in double-figures led by 15 points from Michelle Maher and 13 apiece by Mallory Boyle and Sophie Reichelt. The Leathernecks shot 36% for the game with nine three pointers.
