KIRKSVILLE, Mo.  – Dave Gambino's two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 walk off win. The second game of the day was rained out and will be made up on Monday as part of a doubleheader starting at noon.
 
Gambino took the first pitch he saw from Aaron Bedsworth over the right field fence to make Kent Frantz just the second pitcher in Truman history to win seven games in a season.
 
With one swing of the bat in the top of the seventh, Collin Zurweller nearly hung the first loss on Frantz for his collegiate career. Zurweller two-out RBI single broke the scoreless tie.
 
Paul Trenhaile led off the bottom of the inning and hit a ball back up the middle that richoched off of pitcher Aaron Bedsworth to reach on an infield single. After a check on Bedsworth by the Missouri S&T staff, Gambino drove the first pitch over the 350 sign in right center and was greeted at the plate by a mob of teammates. It was his fourth home run of the season.
 
Frantz and Bedsworth were locked in a pitcher's duel through the first six innings. Bedworth held the 'Dogs to just five hits with doubles each from Trenhaile and Gambino. However, Bedsworth got a pair of double play balls and had two Truman players picked off.
 
Frantz got 14 groundouts including a double play to squelch an S&T rally in the sixth. The Miners had seven hits on the game including three in the top half of the seventh that resulted in a 1-0 lead.
