Ben Wellman recovered a fumble in the endzone 20 seconds into the game and the Bulldogs scored 28 first half points in a 31-14 victory over the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Saturday. Truman evens their conference record at 1-1.

- The last defensive score by the Bulldogs was by T.J. Fine against Indianapolis in 2014 when he ran back an 83-yard fumble recovery.
- With 2:02 left in the quarter, Devonte Black called a quarterback keeper and ran it in from eight yards out to cap off a 14-play, 83-yard drive that took 5:36.
- Key Play: Bulldogs converted on three third downs on the drive on the possession and had an 11-yard rush by Andy Satulla that moved the ball from the Blue Tiger 44 down to the 33.
- Malique Robbins scored his first collegiate touchdown as he ran in from 11 yards to finish off a nine-play, 52 yard drive at 11:03 in the second quarter.
- Key Play: Truman called a timeout just before the end of the quarter to force Lincoln to punt into the wind. Setting up at midfield, the Bulldogs rushed nine straight times ending with Robbins scoring from 11 yards out up the middle.
- Black scored his second eight-yard rushing touchdown as he dove to the left pylon with 3:34 left in the first half to finish a six-play, 56-yard drive to make it 28-0 Truman.
- Key Play: Satulla started the drive with runs of 23 and 13 yards. The drive stayed alive following an offsides foul called on Lincoln on third and four.
- After a scoreless third quarter, Nick Dolezal made his fourth field goal of the season from 27 yards out to give Truman a 31-0 lead with 11:03 remaining to play.
- Key Play: Following a 12-yard pass from Randy Schroeder to Jordan Jorgenson, Lincoln was tagged with a 15-yard personal foul that moved the ball from the 43 down to the 16 yard line.
- Lincoln ended their scoring drought with Owen Jordan scoring from four yards out with 8:32 left. The extra point was missed.
- Key Play: Jordan completed four straight passes to start the possession and called his own number for an 11-yard gain.
- The Blue Tigers trimmed the lead to 31-14 on a double pass. Bryson Winfrey found Antwon Davis for a 22-yard TD pass and the two-point conversion was good.
- Key Play: Jordan hit Darius Hicks for a 38-yard pass on the first play after the Blue Tigers held the Bulldogs on downs at their own 24. Hicks had receptions of 25 and seven yards before having a TD catch negated due to offensive pass interference.
Key Stats:- The Bulldogs had 195 yards rushing in the first half and finish with a season high 281 yards on the ground. Truman had 334 yards of total offense.
- Andy Satulla led Truman with 89 yards rushing on 18 attempts (4.9 yards per carry) while Devonte Black added 79 yards on the ground on 16 attempts and Malique Robbins had 77 on 17 carries.
- Lincoln was held to -11 yards in the first half and finished with zero net yards rushing for the game. The Blue Tigers finished with 253 yards of total offense with 163 yards coming in the fourth quarter.
- The Blue Tigers came into the game averaging 383 yards of total offense and 144 on the ground, however leading rusher Miles Drummond did not play.
- Steven Day finished with two sacks and as a team, the Bulldogs sacked Lincoln quarterbacks six times with 13 tackles for loss totaling 48 yards. Devin Gillespie, Brett Judkins and Ben Wellman all had fumble recoveries.
- Ben Chaney led the defense with 10 total tackles and had two pass breakups.
- Satulla had over 100 all-purpose yards on the day adding 14 yards receiving on two receptions.
Game Notes:- Truman won their 20th straight game over the Blue Tigers dating back to 1974. The Bulldogs are now 21-4-1 all-time against Lincoln. It was Truman's first trip to Jefferson City since the 1989 season.
- The Bulldogs doubled their overall point total in the season. They came into the game with 30 points in the first three games and finished with 31 on the scoreboard.
- Truman finished the game with 33:43 of possession time and was 6-of-15 on third downs while scoring on all four redzone trips. Truman has scored in every trip this season when they have reached the redzone.
