KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Bulldogs will close out 2016 with their final non-conference game of the season when they host Iowa Wesleyan (3-7) on New Year's Eve at 1:30 p.m.

Truman returned to the court for practice on Tuesday after the NCAA Division II mandatory "Dead Week" surrounding the Christmas holiday. The Bulldogs were sent into the break on a sour note after Missouri-St. Louis dealt the 'Dogs an 80-70 home loss on December 19. Four Truman players scored in double figures but the defense allowed five UMSL players to tally over 10 points including a 24-point outing by Triton Laura Szorenyi. Cassidy Clark led Truman with 18 but the Bulldogs were 13-of-19 from the free throw line and only 5-of-20 from three-point range.

This season, Truman is 4-4 in non-conference games and 2-1 in home games. Under Head Coach Amy Eagan, the Bulldogs are 33-10 in non-conference tilts and 11-4 in home games.

The Tigers have lost their last three games and are 3-7 on the season. This game is an exhibition game for Iowa Wesleyan. IWC last played on December 20 at home against Nebraska Wesleyan and lost 64-51.

This will be only the second meeting between the two schools separated by 110 miles. The last time was on November 23, 2004, a 73-57 victory by the Bulldogs.

Senior Cassidy Clark leads Truman in scoring at 14.5 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per night. Clark is shooting 53% from the field and also leads the team in blocks (10), steals (14) and offensive rebounds (27).  She is joined in double-figure scoring by Rachel Edmundson (12.9 ppg) and Ashley Hartwig (10.8 ppg). Edmundson is second on the team in three-pointers (16) and in field goal percentage (46.4%). Hartwig is the top free throw shooter at 89% and is second on the team in steals with 11.

Truman, as a team, is averaging 72.3 points per night while allowing 64.3. They are shooting overall 41.7% from the field and 30.7% from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs make 6.3 three-pointers per game with Brooke Bailey leading the team with 20 three-pointers this season. Truman is shooting 74% from the foul line with Clark and Hartwig getting to the line the most at 37 and 38 times respectively.

Opponents have shot 39.9% from the field against Truman this year and 28.6% from three.
