Jason Killday Named New Offensive Coordinator

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Jason Killday has been named the new offensive coordinator for the Truman Football team. Killday spent the past six seasons as Assistant Head Coach in charge of Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers at Quincy University.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jason to the Bulldog Football Family," said Head Coach Gregg Nesbitt.  "He brings a proven track record of developing the passing game and the quarterback position, while serving at Quincy University a fellow member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.  Jason also brings an excellent recruiting background and has developed outstanding relationships in Illinois and will be assigned Central Illinois as his primary recruiting territory."

Killday was also the recruiting and academic coordinator for the Hawks that constantly increased their offensive production the past few years. Quincy was fifth in the GLVC in scoring offense (26.4 ppg) averaging over 400 yards of offense and over 30 minutes of possession time. In fact, Quincy ranked near the top of the league in possession time the past four years.

Two of Killday's students rewrote the Quincy record book. Quarterback Nick Lonegran set the school record for career passing yard (7,689) and touchdowns (55) while receiver Justin Dickens holds the QU mark for receptions (177), yards (2,506) and touchdowns (31). Both were first team all-GLVC honorees for the Hawks.

He will take over a Bulldog offense that has averaged 23 points and 330 yards of total offense the past six years. In 2015, Truman scored 20 points per game while passing for 159.4 yards and rushing for 142.3 yards per game.

Prior to Quincy, Killday was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox, Illinois, assistant coach at Edwardsville (Ill.) High School and coach at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield, Illinois. He coached in three state championship games, winning two in the high school ranks.

Killday was a starter at quarterback for two years at Illinois College in Jacksonville.

In addition, Defensive Coordinator Kellen Nesbit has been promoted to Assistant Head Coach and will coordinate special teams and the defensive secondary.
