KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - A goal from sophomore,
Tristyn Hasmer, in the 79th minute was all the Truman men's soccer team needed to outlast Bellarmine in the Bulldogs' home opener on Friday afternoon at Bulldog Soccer Park.
Hasmer's second goal of the season helped TSU improve its overall record to 3-1-1, 1-1-0 in the GLVC, while BU fell to 2-3-1 on the year, 1-2-0 in conference action. In the 24th minute, Truman had a chance to take the lead, but
Craig McLaurine's penalty-kick attempt was saved by a diving Zach Pogue.
In goal,
Zac Suazo was rock solid once again as he collected his third career shutout and first of the season with three saves on a total of 12 shots faced. In the team statistics, Bellarmine led in total shots (12-10) and corner kicks (4-3), but the Bulldogs had one more save while the two squads were even in shots on goal (3-3).
