KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Another day, another sweep. The Truman State University volleyball team picked up its 11th sweep of the season on Halloween night, has won eight of its last 10 matches, and moved a season high two games above the .500 mark. The Bulldogs defeated Northwest Missouri State with set scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-18.
Truman improved to 14-12 overall while Northwest Missouri State has lost two in a row and three of its last four to fall to 14-13. Tuesday night, the Bulldogs hit an out-of-this-world .333 with 46 kills and only nine errors on 111 swings. That marks three matches in a row in which the Purple and White have hit above .280 and four of the last five with a hitting percentage of at least .265.
Jasmine Brown was once again on top of the kills category with 15 to her name and an absurd .361 hitting percentage. Next up was
Natalie Brimeyer, who was flawless on the attack thanks to 11 kills and not a single error on 17 total attempts for a ridiculous .647 hitting percentage.
Holly Hildebrand was close to double-figures with eight kills and a .538 clip through the air. For Brimeyer, she reached 10+ kills for the seventh time this year after never doing so as a freshman or sophomore and her .647 clip is a personal best for double-digit kills. The next closest mark was when she hit .526 with 13 kills vs. No. 9 Augustana on Sept. 8.
Savvy Hughes ran point for the onslaught with 37 assists and was two digs away from her 13th double-double of the season. Defensively,
Lauren Wacker was the digs leader with 13 and is now five away from the 1,000-dig plateau. Above the net, Brimeyer paced the squad with six block assists on the night. Entering this match, Truman was ranked among the top 15 nationally in both total blocks (ninth) and blocks per set (14th). The Bulldogs proved why with another stellar effort above the net against the Bearcats.

- The home team scored six of the first seven points in the second set and forced a timeout by its visitors.
- The Bearcats hung around the entire set, but were never able to tie it as they pulled within one, four times.
- The Bulldogs ended the set with a 5-1 spurt and were ahead two sets to none heading into the intermission.
- The eighth and final tie of the match came at 2-2 in the third set before Truman took the lead back and never relinquished it.
