RECAP: Maggie Beem Gets OT Winner In Clash With McKendree

LEBANON, Ill. – Maggie Beem slid the game winner past McKendree keeper Zoe Brochu 30 seconds into overtime to give the Truman Women's Soccer team an important 1-0 late season victory.
 
The Bulldogs trailed the Bearcats by a game in the standings and the two teams were scoreless through the 90 minutes of regulation.  Truman had the advantage in shots at 15-9 and both had six shots on net entering extra time.
 
Hanna Burke took control of a free ball near midfield and dribbled down the middle before feeding Beem at the 18-yard box. Beem kept the ball on the ground and touched it past a defender and a diving Brochu for her third goal of the season.
 
The win pulled Truman (11-3-1; 7-3-1 GLVC) into a three-way tie for second in the GLVC standings, one win behind new leader Lewis at 8-3. The Bulldogs will play at Illinois Springfield (3-8) on Sunday before wrapping up the regular season at William Jewell (4-7) on Wednesday.
