Box Score

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Truman Women's Soccer team capped off two overtime wins this weekend with Hanna Burke scoring in the 99th minute to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 win over Illinois Springfield on Sunday afternoon.

On a counterattack following a Truman foul deep in their half of the field, Mia Coyne played a ball from midfield up to Maggie Beem. The junior touched it off to Burke around 25-yards out who in turn hit the perfect shot into the top right corner of the net for the winner.

It was Burke's fourth goal and second overtime winner this season. Beem and Coyne got the assists and both had two helpers on the day. Beem had a role in three of Truman's four goals this weekend with the OT winner on Friday against McKendree and two assists on three Bulldog net finders Sunday.

Truman grabbed the early lead 1-0 on Addy Hoffman's first score of the season in the 18th minute. Beem and Hanna Liljegren assisted.

The Prairie Stars leveled the match around 10 minutes later on Maggie Juhlin's first tally of the year.

Early in the second half, Taylor Mraz put UIS up 2-1 on passes from Juhlin and Kayla Meyer.

Six minutes later Leah Bolskar scored her first of the year on a feed from Coyne.

Both teams combine for 33 total shots, 19 for Truman and 14 for UIS with Truman directing eight toward the goal and the Prairie Stars five.

Following Sunday's action with one match left on the docket in the conference slate, Truman, McKendree, Quincy and Southern Indiana are all tied atop the league with 8-3-1 records. Bellarmine (7-2-3), Lewis (8-4), Maryville (7-4-1) and Rockhurst (7-5) have locked up the remaining four seeds for the eight-team conference tournament that begins next Sunday. The seeds will be determined after Wednesday's matches.

Truman will travel to William Jewell (4-8).
