RECAP: Truman Women Fall To S&T 1-0

Box Score

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Miners stunned the Truman Women's Soccer team 1-0 on Sunday, snapping the Bulldogs three-match winning streak.

Kayla Foster scored with 52 seconds left in the first half. Foster took advantage of an overplay by a Bulldog defender and beat Beth Hopwood from 23 yards out for her first goal of the season.  The Miners had nine of their 10 shots in the first 45 minutes.

Truman tried getting the equalizer in the second. They had a great chance with under 10 minutes left as the ball nearly cross the line off a shot by Hanna Burke. Kristin Steins plucked it out of the air and kept it from breaking the plane of the goal to preserve the victory for S&T.

Less than ideal conditions plagued the match from the onset as heavy rain poured down throughout. The match was moved from the Truman Soccer Park's natural grass surface to the Stokes Stadium turf.

The Bulldogs will return to action for their final regular season home weekend. They will host Indianapolis on Friday at noon before Bellarmine visits next Sunday.
