Box Score (HTML)

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -  Katie Jaseckas matched her season-high with 18 points and Brooke Bailey was one off her career high with 17 as the Truman Women's Basketball team downed Davenport (Mich.) 81-66 for their sixth straight win.

The Bulldogs led wire-to-wire with a five-point lead at the end of the first quarter, a 38-28 lead at half and a 59-44 advantage heading into the fourth. The Panthers went on an 11-0 run after Truman took their largest lead of 19 points after the first bucket of the quarter.

Haley Gibbons connected from distance to cut the Truman lead down to eight at 61-53 with 7:05 to play but Mackenzie Bray converted on a three-point play and the Bulldogs scored 13 of the next 18 points to restore their double-digit lead.

Jaseckas made 7-of-10 from the floor, including a triple and three free throws to match her season-high total of 18. She previously scored 18 against Missouri Western.

Bailey rained in four three-pointers and added six assists to score 17 points. It was one off her career mark set in 2017 against Indianapolis. It was also the fourth time in her Bulldog career with six helpers.

Truman outscored Davenport in the paint 34-16 and frustrated their 6-4 post player Jenna Falkenberg to eight points on 3-of-9 shooting. Martyna Pioro paced the Panthers with 17 points off the bench.

The Bulldogs had the edge in field goal percentage at 52% to 40% for the game and both teams went 9-of-22 from distance.

Truman is 6-0 for the first time since the 2011 season. They will look for lucky number seven on Saturday in Springfield when they play Lindenwood (Mo.) University. The Lions are the defending Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association tournament champs and were 4-0 before being dealt a 76-43 loss to host Drury on Friday. Tip time is scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
