RECAP: Women Dominate Second Quarter To Win 59-45 In Opener

NASHVILLE – The Truman Women's Basketball team earned a 59-45 win in their season opener against Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University on Friday night. Truman will play Kentucky Wesleyan in the second half of the GLVC/GMAC Conference Challenge on Saturday.
 
Allison Thomas and Katie Jaseckas led 10 Bulldog scorers with nine points each. Thomas was three-of-three from the field and made all three free throw attempts while Jaseckas was three of five from the floor and thee of five from the line.
 
The teams were tied at nine after the first quarter but Truman outscored the Trojans 19-7 in the second to head into the locker room up 28-16. They won the third quarter 23-14.
 
The Bulldogs shot 41% for the game and made seven of 24 three-point attempts.  They won the glass 41-32.
 
Kentucky Wesleyan lost to Drury 98-60 in the first game of the challenge.
