RECAP: Mutuwa Leads Truman Contingent At Central Last Chance Invite

PELLA, Iowa – A handful of Truman Wrestlers competed at the Central (Iowa) College Last Chance Invitational on Saturday.

Ashton Mutuwa scored a pair of technical falls to win the 285-pound bracket. He defeated Hunter Ruth 17-1 and Sheldon Rodriguez 15-0 in his two bouts.

Shane Gallagher went 2-2 on the day. He won both his matches by pin at the 2:49 mark against Tanner Zimmerman and at the 5:51 mark over Griffin McBride.

Nick Peglow defeated Jesse Malmkar by fall in two separate matches. Peglow pinned Malmkar at 5:55 in the first contest and at the 2:24 mark in bout two.

Willie Jackson and Jules Joseph also competed and went 0-2.

Truman will be off until the NCAA Regionals on February 23-24 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The tournament qualifies the top wrestlers in the region for the national championship meet in March.
