SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - For the first time in nearly six years, the Truman State University volleyball team has won five of its first six matches. Friday on day one of the Westminster Invitational, the Bulldogs rolled past previously unbeaten Minnesota State (5-1) for their third-straight sweep before a four-set victory over Fort Lewis (0-2) in the nightcap.
Set scores vs. the Mavericks were 25-21, 25-21 and 25-18 before scores against the Skyhawks included 25-21, 21-25, 25-18, and 25-21. Prior to playing Truman, Minnesota State hadn't lost a set all season (12-0). The Bulldogs trail the Mavericks 4-5-1 in the all-time series but lead the Skyhawks 2-0.
Next up, the Purple and White will continue play in The Beehive State with the host Griffins at 1 p.m. and Lubbock Christian at 6 p.m.
