RECAP: PK Goal In Overtime Dooms Truman Women

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy Lady Hawks were awarded a penalty just 26 seconds into the overtime session and Cassidy Foley beat Beth Hopwood on the left side of the net for the 1-0 win over the Truman Women's Soccer team on Sunday.
 
Mary Maloney got free on the left side early in the session and was taken down in the box to be awarded the penalty. Foley took the kick and got it past the outstretched arms of Hopwood to move the Lady Hawks to 3-1 in the GLVC and drop the Bulldogs to 2-2.
 
Quincy had the bulk of shots, mainly in the second half. The Lady Hawks had five in the first and 10 in the second to finish with 16 on the day. Truman's five shots, three on goal, came in the final 45 minutes of play.
 
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back next Friday when they travel to St. Louis to face the Tritons of Missouri-St. Louis at 5 p.m.
