RECAP: Women Soccer Rallies To Down Drury 2-1

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Women's Soccer team scored a pair of goals to overcome a 1-0 deficit and downed Drury 2-1 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference home match on Friday.
 
Drury took the early lead in the 17th minute when Lindsey Lee tapped in a ball that eluded the Truman defenders.
 
The Bulldogs started to put the pressure on after that goal and finally in the 42nd minute, Anna Meyer got a cross from the right side from Isabel Kurzban and buried the ball in the net for the equalizer. It was Meyer's team-leading third goal of the season.
 
With the strong west wind at their back in the second half, Hanna Burke fed Chance Douglass at the top of the 18 and the blast ricocheted off the crossbar, off the back of the keepers head and into the net. That proved to be the game winner as Truman controlled most of the half.
 
The Bulldogs outshot Drury 22-7 for the game and 6-2 on shots on goal.
 
Next up will be a home match with Southwest Baptist University on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m.
