RECAP: Truman Dominates SBU For 4-0 Win

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Paige Peterson scored a pair of goals and Chance Douglass had a goal and assist in Truman's 4-0 victory over Southwest Baptist on Sunday afternoon.
 
Peterson opened the scoring in the 27th minute when she put a corner kick from Douglass into the net for her second goal of the season.
 
The score remained 1-0 until half they the Bulldogs took advantage of the strong west wind to put three behind the SBU keeper. Douglass took a long feed from Chloe Hollander and broke free for a breakaway goal in the 69th minute.
 
Allie Cross scored her first of the season in the 85th minute and Peterson ended the scoring as time was expiring on a free kick goal at the top of the 18-yard box.
 
Beth Hopwood was tested just once in the second half to earn the shutout.
 
Truman evens their record to 5-5-1 overall and 5-4 in the GLVC. Southwest Baptist falls to 3-7-1 overall and 2-7-0 in conference.
