COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The Truman Men's Swimming team competed at the Colorado College Tri-meet over the weekend. Friday night the hosts did not participate as scheduled, and Truman finished second to Colorado School of Mines 132-72.
The first day Austin Mayer and Noah May finished with the top two places in the men's 200 yard butterfly, Brendan Harris and Grant Lair finished top two in 200 yard backstroke and got first place in the 200 freestyle relay.
On Saturday all three schools (Truman, Mines and Colorado College) participated. Truman edged out Mines for first place as they got 608 points to Mines' 596. CC came in third with 467. Truman took first and third in the 300 backstroke relay, first in the 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay.
Following the events, coach Jerod Simek said, "We were very excited and satisfied with our races today! A relay meets are always a good time and we were able to learn from some of our races yesterday and really show off our depth to win the meet. We came back strong from yesterday's meet. Overall we had a great time racing at altitude and enjoying all that Colorado Springs has to offer during fall break."
