ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Truman Men's Soccer team took the field Sunday at nationally ranked Maryville, looking to rebound after falling at S&T in Rolla Friday night. Julian Echeverri had another strong outing in net as he made eight saves to keep Maryville off the scoreboard, but with TSU unable to score the Bulldogs had to settle for a 0-0 draw.
Simo Valentino and Mac Knudsen generated the two shots in the game for the Bulldogs, and both went on net. But Maryville keeper Max Simonazzi was up to the task on both. Maryville generated 19 total shots, with eight on goal. But Truman persevered to take the draw.
Truman got one shot on goal in each of the two regulation halves, with Knudsen's coming in the first half and Valentino's in the second. Three of the eight saves by Echeverri came in the extra sessions.
Up next for the Bulldogs is a home weekend against Southern Indiana Friday at noon and then McKendree on Sunday at noon.
