RECAP: OT Goal Halts Truman Four-Match Winning Streak

ST. LOUIS – A goal off a free kick in overtime stopped Truman's four match winning streak at Maryville downed the Bulldogs 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Following a caution at midfield, Stacie Muehling played the free kick into the 18-yard box were in bounced once before Alex Johnson got a head on it and slipped it just inside the goalpost for the winner. It was Johnson's seven goal of the season and came with just over two and a half minutes remaining in the first extra time session.
 
Up until then, the match was fairly even in terms of statistics. The Bulldogs had four total shots with one on goal by Maggie Beem in the overtime period while the Saints had four total shots and all four on net.
 
The loss drops the Bulldogs to 6-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Saints improve to 8-2-1.
 
Truman will play at home for their final four regular season matches starting on Friday with Southern Indiana visiting Kirksville.
