KIRKSVILLE, Mo.—The Truman women's swimming team opened their conference season against McKendree on Saturday, coming out with a resounding win, 179.50-80.50.
Megan Mensinger and Mikayla Kempf finished 1-2 in the 1000 yard freestyle, with Kaylee Sisson and Maddie Wilson going 1-2 in the 200 yard freestyle. Emma Brabham won the 100 yard backstroke, 100 yard freestyle and was part of the top placing team in the 200 yard medley relay.
In the 100 yard breaststroke, Truman went 1-2-3-4 with Natalie Galluzzo, Annika Hofer, Allison Garrett and Ginny Schranck taking those spots in that order.
Following the final results, coach Jerod Simek said, "the women's team swam lights out today with multiple season best times and strong performances. We are pretty broken down right now at this point in the season so it has been nice to see the energy, attitude, and grit of our girls staying so strong! McKendree was right behind us last year in conference so we wanted to make sure we could put on a good showing to see where we stack up for the end of the year and we definitely did that today! GO DOGS!"
