ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Two goals in a span of seven minutes midway through the second half gave the Lewis Flyers a 2-0 victory over the Truman Women's Soccer team on Friday night. The Bulldogs return to the field on Sunday at Illinois Springfield.
Jamie Hansen scored off assists by Alissa Waits and Mallory Richardson in the 67
th minute to give Lewis the 1-0 lead then in the 74
th minute, Kailey Parnello scored an unassisted goal for cushion.
Truman had eight shots with four on goal, one each by
Faith Branson,
Chance Douglass,
Hanna Burke and
Sydni Beeley but each was turned away by keeper Lucy Clark.
Lewis finished with 12 total shots and three on net.
The Bulldogs fall to 2-5-1 overall and 2-4 in the GLVC.
