RECAP: Bulldogs Get Back Into Win Column Defeating UIS 2-0

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Goals by Paige Peterson and Hanna Liljegren helped the Truman Bulldogs break a three-match scoreless and losing streak as Truman downed Illinois Springfield 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Peterson scored her first of the season in the 7th minute and it was unassisted. Liljegren tallied her first of the year in the 53rd minute, assisted by Hanna Burke.
 
Beth Hopwood stopped all four UIS shots on goal for her third shutout of the season.
 
Truman will return home for a pair of games next weekend. The Bulldogs will host Drury University on Friday and Southwest Baptist on Sunday with both matches beginning at 2:30 p.m.
