RECAP: Burke Punches Home Winner Late For Truman Women

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Hanna Burke scored off a corner kick to break a 1-1 tie in the 85th minute and the Truman Women's Soccer team downed Missouri-St. Louis 2-1 on Friday afternoon.
 
Burke's winner came when Amelia Coyne's corner eluded traffic in the area and found Burke near the back post. She was able to get her foot on the ball to slip it past keeper Amber Hayes for her third goal of the season.
 
Maggie Beem started the scoring just two minutes into the game. Chloe Hollander lobbed a pass from her defensive position that went over the top of the defenders to Beem. She was able to control the pass and fire it on the ground into the net for her first goal of the season.
 
The Tritons got the equalizer in the 72nd minute when Mia Milazzo crossed a ball from the right in to the six-yard box where Sarah Lyon got a foot on it to tie the match at one.
 
The Bulldogs improve to 9-6-1 overall and 9-5 in the GLVC and will wrap up the regular season on Sunday with a home match against Lindenwood. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
