KIRKSVILLE, Mo.—The Truman Men's Basketball team tied a season high with ten threes as they defeated Quincy 69-59 to win their fourth straight game and the fourth straight over the Hawks in the series. Brodric Thomas led the way once again with 22 points and tied with Alex McQuinn for the team lead in rebounds with eight.

Early on the teams were knotted up at four, but an 8-2 run for the Bulldogs build up an early 12-6 lead. Sam Nissen drained a three to give TSU the early six point edge with 13:14 left in the half. The Bulldogs held Quincy at bay for the next few minutes but the Hawks chipped away and tied the half at 16 all with 9:14 to go. Over the next four minutes, a 13-4 run by Truman gave them 1 29-20 lead with 5:13 until intermission. Thomas made two of his team high four threes in this stretch and Nissen capped it off with his second trey of the game. TSU took their largest lead of the half at 31-20 with 4:38 left, but over the last few minutes of the half Quincy would come within four and Truman entered the break with a 35-31 lead.

A quick 7-2 spurt from the Bulldogs to open the second half rebuilt the lead to nine points, capped off with a three from Hunter Strait. But Quincy would fight back as they cut the Truman lead to just two at 49-47, but from there an 18-2 run by the Bulldogs would seal the game. McQuinn threw down a monster dunk to get the run started then a barrage of threes from Thomas, two from Turner Scott and Nissen blew the game open. The Bulldogs led the rest of the game by double digits as they cruised to the ten point win.

McQuinn scored a career high 12 points in the game, with eight boards also being a career high. The team went 10-29 from beyond the arc, tying their season high ten treys that they set against Grand Valley State.

Next for the Bulldogs will be the current number one team in the country—NW Missouri State in Maryville on December 20.
